Helping Adults Find Their Motivation to Exercise

Exercise is key to maintaining healthy aging. The National Institute on Aging even found out in one of their studies that exercise, especially for older adults, can help reduce the impact of cognitive decline and may assist with longevity.

As such, our elderly care in California at Attentive Senior Care ensures that each of our senior residents gets to achieve daily exercise with their peers. With the assistance of our care staff, we can encourage our seniors to participate and improve their bodies as they spend their time with us.

Despite this, however, our senior care in Fresno, California, understands that not all of our residents want to exercise. Some of our residents feel as if they don’t have to exercise anymore, maybe because of a condition or their innate shyness. Thus, we always strive hard to encourage our seniors and help them find their motivation through the following:

  • Providing a Variety of Exercises
We don’t provide a single exercise routine for all residents. Not all of them have the same capabilities. As such, we make sure that we keep exercise fun, interesting, and enjoyable. We go creative with endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility.
  • Finding Time to Exercise Every Day
Some days, we let seniors experience other forms of exercise, such as dancing, outdoor games, and even chores like gardening. We often insert these types of activities throughout the day.
  • Making Our Exercises a Social Activity
Even though we have spaces where our seniors can exercise by themselves, we also provide options where they can move as a group.

As an assisted living providing non-medical care, we make sure to upkeep our residents’ overall well-being to ensure happy aging. If you are interested in our other services, feel free to talk to us!
